PAC-10 boys’, girls’ roundup: Phoenixville boys top Pottsgrove in OT on Clark’s heroics; OJR downs Boyertown

Alex Clark’s fourth goal with 56.5 seconds remaining in overtime propelled Phoenixville to an 11-10 Pioneer Athletic Conference boys’ lacrosse victory over Pottsgrove Wednesday night.

Clark added two assists to the tally sheet for the Phantoms, who improved to 1-4 in the league and 2-5 overall. Also coming up big for Phoenixville were Dan Greenwood (2 goals, 3 assists), Troy Giampietro (3 goals), Ari Levine (2 goals, 2 assists) and keeper Nick Lolli (15 saves).

Isaac Levine collected one goal and Jake Vargo added an assist as first-year coach Grady Wise scored his first career league win.

Pottsgrove was led by Matt Natale (4 goals, 3 assists), Steve Ambs (3 goals), Danny Michaels (2 goals) and keeper Ryan Bilardo (19 saves). D.J. Ludy (2 assists) and Eliott Koss also found the back of the net for the Falcons (1-5, 2-5).

Owen J. Roberts 16, Boyertown 9

The Wildcats handed the Bears their first league loss behind five goals and an assist from Tyler Graham. OJR raised its record to 4-1 in the league (4-4 overall) while Boyertown dropped to 4-1, 4-2.

Chris Lees scored five goals and chipped in with an assist for the Bears.

Methacton 14, Pope John Paul II 6

Brian Vawter poured in five goals and Keith White chipped in with four to lead the Warriors (2-3, 2-6). The loss drops the Golden Panthers to 1-5, 2-6.

Perkiomen Valley 11, Neshaminy 9

The Vikings scored the nonleague decision behind hat tricks from Ryan Boyd (3 assists) and Sean Tornetta. PV (4-3, 3-2 league) also got 19 saves from keeper Bryce Womack and and a pair of strikes from Jamie Klementisz.


Methacton 13, Upper Perkiomen 9

Anna Marie Warrington netted three goals while Kaitlyn Palmer and Jess McCrane contributed two goals and two assists apiece for the Warriors, who improved to 1-5, 1-8. Alyssa Rothman collected 11 saves for Methacton.

Upper Perk (2-3, 2-4) was led by Mia Baringer with four goals and Emily Leight and Morgan Weinstein with two strikes apiece.

Perkiomen Valley 14, Pope John Paul II 2

The Vikings raised their record to 3-2 in the league (5-2 overall) behind a hat trick from freshman Nathalie Sell. Picking up two goals apiece for Perk Valley were Becky Gilligan (2 assists), Becca Sangiluiano and Natalie Marsh.

PV freshman keeper Harley Barrett recorded 13 saves on 15 shots, holding PJP (0-5, 2-6) scoreless through the first 40 minutes before Megan Mattiola and Grace Dawson finally found the range.

Spring-Ford 19, Pottsgrove 3

Kira Gensler delivered five goals and one assist and Maddie Ward came through with two strikes and nine helpers to lead the Rams (4-1, 5-3). Spring-Ford also got hat tricks from Tracy Sloan, Sasha Wozniak and Leann Shaw.

The Falcons got `11 saves from Lindsey Weaver.
