From Press Release

The University of Pennsylvania’s head coach Mike Murphy has announced the hiring of Ryan Klipstein as an assistant coach with the program. Klipstein joins Judd Lattimore as an assistant coach on Coach Murphy’s staff. Klipstein comes to Penn from Williams College, where he was the Ephs’ offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for 2011-12.

We are very excited to have Coach Klipstein join our staff,” said Murphy, who enters his fourth season at the helm in 2013. “His passion for the sport and the coaching profession will be a great addition to Penn Lacrosse. His knowledge for the game and energy in recruiting will make immediate contributions. We enthusiastically welcome Ryan to the Penn Lacrosse family.”

Klipstein played his college lacrosse at Bucknell University. A midfielder and attackman, he was a senior captain for the Bison in 2011 when they went 14-3 overall and lost to eventual champion Virginia in the NCAA Championship first round. Klipstein was the team’s leading scorer in all three categories that season, with 32 goals and 21 assists for 53 points, and earned second-team All-Patriot League as well as a Patriot League All-Tournament selection. At the end of the season, he was chosen to play in the USILA North/South All-Star Game during the NCAA’s Championship Weekend, and Bucknell was ranked seventh in the final USILA national poll.

A native of Califon, N.J., Klipstein was a first-team All-Patriot League selection as a junior, after he scored 34 goals and dished off seven assists. He also tied a program record that season for goals in a game, scoring eight vs. Lafayette. For his career, Klipstein tallied 118 points. He graduated with a BA as a double major in education and economics.
