Mount St. Joseph rebounded from a loss to national power Milton Saturday by defeating previously-undefeated Holy Child (Md.), 18-6, this morning in the AmLax Challenge in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Magic (3-1) – who lost, 13-9, on Saturday to an unbeaten team ranked in all national polls – got standout midfield play from Emily Ehret (1 goal, 6 gbs, 1 interception, 5 DCs), Dominique Nyzio (3 goals) and Laura Pacheco (1 goal, 2 interceptions and 3 gbs.
Olivia Gannon’s six goals and two assists and Natalie Bohner’s four goals and one assist led the attack for the Mount.
Meg McCabe (1 goal, 2 two gbs, 1 interception), Marley Breslin (1 goal) and Katelyn Meister (1 goal) also helped the attack.
“The defense communicated well today,” said Mount coach Jen Duckenfie.d “Maddie Haase, Haley Hendel and Jane Black really came together today.”
Holy Child (6-1) was led by Mary Claire Byrne’s two goals
