From Press Releases
Drexel head coach Anna Marie Vesco announced the second annual “Lax 4 Maggie 4v4 Fall Classic” set for Sunday, October 23 at Vidas Field.
The women’s lacrosse team invites all middle and high school players and teams to participate in a 4v4 tournament and shooting clinic. The proceeds will be donated to the Maggie Medvitz Education Fund, a fund providing an aid scholarship to a student attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Downingtown, where Maggie would have attended, and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
The Dragons adopted Maggie Medvitz through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation in July of 2009. She was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed after four months of intense treatment. To honor their adopted sister, the women’s team hosted a 4v4 tournament that raised $2,500 for the Maggie Medvitz Education Fund and $500 for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation last year.
Registration for team rosters requires four to eight field players plus a goalie. Individual players can register as free agents to be placed on a team. The deadline to register is Friday, October 14. Please contact assistant coach Hannah Rudloff at hir26@drexel.edu with any questions.
