Mike Montella collected four goals and two assists, Joe Taulane tallied four goals and goalie Bill Neilson made 15 saves to lead Garnet Valley to a 15-8 victory over host Emmaus Saturday night in a non-league boys’ lacrosse game involving two teams ranked high in the PA Media Rankings.
The Jaguars, who bounced back from an overtime loss Thursday to Radnor, improved to 6-2. They are ranked No. 6 in the PIAA poll of the PA Rankings. The Green Hornets, ranked No. 4 in the PIAA Poll, fell to 4-4.
Eric Warden contributed one goal and dished off seven assists while Jules Raucci added three goals for Garnet Valley. Steve Smyrl, Rick Lehman and Adam Mondell also scored one apiece as the Jags scored all five fourth-period goals and avenged an 8-7 overtime loss to Emmaus last year.
Will Scott led Emmaus with three goals and two assists and Junior Dan Kinek scored his 99th career goal in the first period, giving Emmaus its only lead of the game at 1-0. Garnet Valley led, 7-4, at halftime,
