Women’s lacrosse player and recent La Salle graduate Jill Davis (Ridley) has been named a recipient of an Eastern College Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, announced the ECAC today.
The award is given to a male and female athlete each in Division I, II and III who has

excelled in academics, athletics and community service. Davis will receive the award during the ECAC Honors Banquet in Hyannis, Mass. on September 28.
Davis – chosen as a Phillylacrosse.com Scholar-Athlete of the week in 2009 – has now been honored as a scholar-athlete by six organizations in 2010. The Folsom, Pa. native became the first La Salle women’s lacrosse player to be tabbed a CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American. She was also named A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year in women’s lacrosse, IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area Women’s Lacrosse Performer of the Year and the La Salle University Scholar Athlete of the Year. Davis received a degree in Elementary Education from La Salle in May, graduating with a 4.0 grade point average.
After adding 40 goals and 14 assists during her senior campaign, Davis is currently ranked sixth all-time in career goals scored and tied for fifth all-time in career points at La Salle. Davis helped the Explorers to a program-best No. 2 seed in the 2010 Atlantic 10 tournament, as well as a program-best nine wins, including five conference victories.
