Boyertown senior defenseman Tyler Shaw has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Washington College (Md.).
Shaw was a Second Team Pioneer Athletic Conference pick for the Bears (11-10) last year, helping them reach the PAC-10 semifinals and the District 1 tournament.
Shaw, who is undecided on a major, is also a two-way starter on Boyertown’s first-place football team. Washington College plays in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
“I really liked the campus and that it wasn’t too far from home,” said Shaw. “I also liked the guys on the team and the coaches.”
Shaw believes the Bears can challenge league powers Owen J. Roberts and Spring-Ford in 2011.
“I’ve had a really great experience at Boyertown,” said Shaw. “I am looking forward to this last year and I think that we are going to do well.”
