Two Philly boys’ teams reached the Round of 16 Championship Bracket this week in the inaugural US Lacrosse U-15 National Championships at Bel Air, Md.
PennStar fell to NESLL (Mass.), 8-5, in the first round of the Championship Bracket Thursday. PennStar, seeded sixth, then fell to Long Island Express, 9-6.
Twist Lacrosse, seeded 13th, bowed to PrimeTime Lacrosse (N.Y.), 9-7, in the first round of the Championship Bracket. Brian Zappala made 13 saves for Twist.
Twist then fell to Ithaca, 13-3, in the final consolation game. Will Black had two goals for Twist.
PennStar (3-0) and Twist (2-1) advanced to the Championship Bracket by winning at least two of their three Pool Play games Wednesday in the first round of the tourney.
