Philadelphia University has named George Chis-Luca as the head women’s coach. He takes over a program that was 12-5 last season (2-4 East Coast Conference) under Jenn Devinney, now the assistant coach.

The Lady Rams will be joining the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in 2008-09, which will be the conference’s inaugural season for the sport.

Chis-Luca comes to Phila University from Northern Burlington High School, where he served as both the head boys’ lacrosse coach (‘07-08) and assistant varsity football coach/head JV coach (’06-08). His lacrosse team won their division championship under his tenure.

“Getting the opportunity to be a head coach at this level doesn’t come around very often and I am going to put everything into this program to succeed,” said Chis-Luca.

Chis-Luca currently works as a physical education teacher at the New Grange School (Princeton, NJ), and has also worked at Northern Burlington (NJ) and Ocean Avenue Elementary (Middletown, NJ) in the same capacity. He was named “Teacher of the Year” while at Ocean Avenue.

A Rowan University graduate (’04) with a degree in Health and Physical Education, Chis-Luca was the founder of the Rowan Ice Hockey Club.
