From Press Release
Delaware Valley University Athletics announced Friday the promotion of Spencer MacQuarrie (Central Bucks West) to Interim Head Coach of the Men’s Lacrosse program ahead of the 2026 season.
“We are excited to promote Spencer to the position of head coach,” said Executive Director of Athletics Dave Duda. “Spencer will look to build upon the foundation he has been a part of creating as an assistant coach. He brings great energy and discipline to the position and has well-prepared ideas as to how he would like to direct the program. We look forward to supporting his efforts in the new role.”
MacQuarrie has been a member of the DelVal men’s lacrosse coaching staff since 2022, serving as an assistant coach with responsibilities spanning all aspects of the Division III program, including practice planning, game-day coaching, recruiting, strength and conditioning, and NCAA compliance.
As the program’s Offensive and Defensive Coordinator, MacQuarrie played a key role in multiple milestones, contributing to more than 20 team and individual program records. Under his leadership, the Aggies earned two MAC Freedom Second Team selections and five MAC Freedom Player of the Week honors, while posting a top-30 national ranking in man-down defense during both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
In his roles as Goalie Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach, MacQuarrie implemented sport-specific training programs that resulted in consistent year-over-year personal records across the roster. His goalkeepers set multiple program records, helping DelVal rank in the top 10 nationally in saves per game in 2025 and finish ranked No. 1 nationally in total saves in 2024.
MacQuarrie also led the program’s recruiting efforts, organizing the team’s first Prospect Day and helping secure two of the strongest recruiting classes in program history. In addition, he served as the team’s Academic Coordinator, supporting student-athletes in the classroom and promoting academic success.
MacQuarrie was a Thiord-Team All-Suburban One Continental Conference attackman at CB West in his senior year at CB West (2011).
A graduate of Wagner College with a degree in Business Administration, MacQuarrie was a four-year member of the Seahawks men’s lacrosse team. He began his collegiate career as a Division I walk-on before earning an athletic scholarship through performance, work ethic, and commitment. He also brings experience as a personal trainer, applying individualized performance principles to athlete development.
Prior to joining DelVal, MacQuarrie spent six seasons coaching at CB West. During his time there, he helped build a championship-level feeder program that captured its first conference title in 2019 and produced numerous student-athletes who went on to compete at all NCAA divisions.
