Gowman completed her hat trick early in the second quarter. Quinny Handley responded for the Quakers to cut the deficit to 5–2, but Wright added a goal following Gowman’s fourth of the afternoon to push the lead to 7–2. Brooke Mazzei extended the margin with a goal and later added an assist as Temple carried a 9–4 lead into halftime.

Just 10 seconds into the third quarter, Culp scored her second goal of the game. Regan O’Brien answered for Penn, trimming the lead to 10–5. Culp completed her fourth hat trick of the season later in the quarter as Temple held an 11–5 advantage entering the fourth.

O’Brien struck again early in the final frame to make it 11–6. Wright and Martin responded to give Temple its largest lead of the game at 13–6. Catherine Berkery scored twice to bring Penn within five, 13–8. Wright completed her hat trick midway through the quarter to extend the lead to 14–8.
