From Press Release
The first Homegrown Classic Lacrosse Showcase will take place on Saturday, March 28, at West Chester Rustin High School, featuring some of the top public school lacrosse programs from Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
The one-day event highlights regular-season matchups between elite public school programs while celebrating the growth of lacrosse at the community and scholastic level. The Homegrown Classic was created to provide a competitive showcase environment with the goal of building a premier annual event in the years ahead.
Attendance is free.
“This event is about recognizing the level of lacrosse being played in public school programs across our region,” said Kevin Philibin, head coach at West Chester Rustin and organizer of the event. “This is the first step in creating something that we hope will grow into a yearly tradition that brings great programs together and showcases all the hard work and commitment of these student-athletes and the support of their communities.”
The 2026 Homegrown Classic schedule includes three high-level matchups:
11:00 AM — Manheim Township (PA, 19-5 last year) vs. Marcellus (NY, 14-5)
1:30 PM — West Chester Rustin (PA, 16-7) vs. Urbana (MD, 17-2)
4:00 PM — Radnor (PA, 20-5) vs. Summit (NJ, 18-5)
Participating schools represent established lacrosse programs from Pennsylvania and neighboring states, including reigning state champions from Maryland and New Jersey. The Homegrown Classic will offer fans a full day of competitive play and an opportunity to see some of the region’s top student-athletes compete.
Rosters and player information will be made available to any attending college coaches and accredited media members, providing an additional opportunity to highlight student-athletes and support the recruiting and exposure process.
The Homegrown Classic Lacrosse Showcase is open to the public, and spectators are encouraged to attend and support public school lacrosse. Fans can follow @homegrownclassiclax on Instagram and any questions can be directed to coach Philibin at coachphilibin@playfusionlax.com.
