From Press Release

Blue Star Lacrosse is proud to announce the addition of Aurora Cordingley as Director of Girls Lacrosse, marking a significant step forward in the continued growth and alignment of the Blue Star girls’ program.

Cordingley brings elite experience as both a player and coach, along with a deep understanding of the modern game. She previously coached at the University of North Carolina and helped lead the University of Massachusetts to a 16–3 record, an undefeated conference season, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

As a player, Cordingley starred at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland, earning All-American honors, Big Ten Attacker of the Year, and recognition as a top-five finalist for the Tewaaraton Award.

She continues to compete at the highest level with the Maryland Charm in the Women’s Lacrosse League, where she is part of a dynamic offensive unit. Her ability to impact the game as both a scorer and playmaker reflects the versatility and competitiveness she will bring to Blue Star.

Internationally, Cordingley represents Team Canada, where she earned a silver at the World Championships and gold at the World Games. She is expected to compete in the 2026 World Games in Tokyo and is pursuing a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games.

A CLEAR FOCUS ON CULTURE, STANDARDS, AND DEVELOPMENT
In her role as Director, Cordingley will lead all aspects of Blue Star Girls Lacrosse with an emphasis on:

-Elevating program culture and standards across all teams
-Aligning development from youth through middle school to high school
-Evaluating players, teams, and coaches in preparation for Summer 2026 and future tryouts
-Supporting families with clear recruiting guidance and communication

Cordingley is committed to delivering intentional player development that has a strong focus on skill refinement, game IQ, and decision-making.

Her leadership will help create a more consistent and intentional experience for Blue Star players and families.

A GROWING PROGRAM WITH STRONG FOUNDATIONS
Blue Star Girls’ Lacrosse is a young and fast-growing program, already fielding competitive teams at the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2033, 2034, and 2035/36 graduation years.

The program includes players from across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, which is supported by a deep and experienced coaching staff that includes over a dozen high school coaches; many who are actively involved in local township and recreational programs.

Blue Star is well integrated with surrounding communities who work alongside local programs to support the growth and accessibility of the sport. With Cordingley’s leadership, those connections will continue to strengthen.

She will work closely with the existing staff to elevate standards, align teaching, and mentor coaches across all levels, while leading the direction of girls’ lacrosse at Blue Star.

EXPANDING OPPORTUNITY THROUGH THE BLUE STAR PERFORMANCE CENTER
Cordingley will also play a key role at the Blue Star Performance Center, where year-round training sessions provide athletes with consistent opportunities to develop.

Her presence will help drive innovation within these sessions while creating new opportunities for players to learn from top coaches and players in the women’s game.

Her addition also strengthens the continued growth of Jersey Box Lacrosse, where she brings added Canadian experience and perspective to a strong coaching group that includes her WLL teammate Sam Swart.

Together, this work will impact not only Blue Star players but girls across the broader lacrosse community.

FROM COACH KUPP
“We are so excited to add a leader of her caliber.

“Aurora is a true lacrosse player at heart, and she will move Blue Star forward in many ways. As a current player, she is on the cutting edge of how the game is taught, coached, and how athletes learn and thrive today.

“Her experience will have a major impact on our coaching staff and our players across all levels. It will also be a valuable resource for our parents as they navigate the youth and recruiting journey, as she has been in the room with some of the best coaches in the country.

“Most importantly, she is a great person who loves coaching. We are lucky to add her to our full-time staff at Blue Star Lacrosse and to welcome her to Medford, New Jersey.

“She has a strong connection with Don Green, and we are aligned and excited to build something special with our Blue Star girls teams and our Jersey girls and Jersey box programs.”

— Marty Kupprion, President, Blue Star Lacrosse

FROM COACH GREEN
“We are so excited to have Aurora join the Blue Star Staff! Blue Star’s tag line is “we love the game, we love to teach the game,” and Coach Cordingley truly embodies this. Coming from a family deeply rooted in lacrosse, the game is a part of who she is and coaching is in her blood. Watching Aurora teach our players, I have been nothing but impressed by her attention to detail and ability to easily communicate information. She truly is a coach who believes in the fundamentals of the game and will develop the players at the highest level.

“Aurora checks all of the boxes; she is a high-level player, a college coach, and knows how to run recruiting services for athletes.

“She has the ability to help players in all stages of their development. Having played for WLL 6’s and Team Canada, we are excited to add more 6’s training to our players as well.

“Personally, I could not be more excited to welcome Aurora to the Blue Star Family. She is an incredibly kind person with extensive knowledge and experience who loves to teach!!!!”

A STEP FORWARD FOR BLUE STAR GIRLS
The addition of Cordingley represents a continued investment in the future of Blue Star Girls’ Lacrosse.

With her leadership, the program will continue to raise its standards, strengthen its player development pathway, and provide a more connected experience for athletes and families. Her perspective as an active professional and international player brings a unique and valuable lens to how Blue Star trains, teaches, and competes.

There is strong talent across the region, and Blue Star is committed to helping that talent grow, compete, and represent itself at a high level.
