Old Dominion’s Lacrosse’s McKenzie Raech (Strath Haven) has been named American Athletic Conference Defender of the Week and Temple’s Sabrina Martin was named midfielder of the Week.
Raech had a game-high nine draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the 11-9 defeat at Furman. The senior from Wallingford, Pennsylvania led all players with three caused turnovers, four ground balls, and five draw controls against Gardner-Webb in a 16-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Murrell scored four goals this week, registering a hat trick in the loss to Furman and grabbed five draw controls. The Freshman out of Perryville, Maryland had one goal and controlled two ground balls in the win at Gardner-Webb. Murrell ranks third in the AAC with nine goals this season.
Old Dominion (3-1) will be in action on Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon. against the Campbell Camels at the LR Hill Sports Complex.

Raech led Old Dominion to a 1-1 week and the Monarchs’ first 3-1 start to a season since 2016. She had a game-high nine draw controls with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in an 11-9 loss to Furman, but helped ODU bounce back in a 16-3 win against Gardner-Webb. She led all players with four ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers against the Bulldogs, allowing the Monarchs to build an 11-1 lead in the second quarter. .

Martin was a factor at both ends of the field in Temple’s 15-12 win against Rider as she figured in two key second-half goals (1g, 1a) and added four draw controls and team highs of four ground balls and three caused turnovers against the Broncs. Martin enters the week ranked third in The American in ground balls (3.5 per game), fourth in draw controls (5.5 per game) and fourth in caused turnovers (2.5 per game).
