True Lacrosse announces acquisition of Blak Widow Select Lacrosse

May 30, 2025 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 5/30/25 – From Press Release

True Lacrosse is excited to announce the acquisition of Blak Widow Select Lacrosse, a premier lacrosse program with a rich tradition of excellence in player development throughout Berks, Lehigh, Lancaster, Cumberland Counties, and surrounding areas. Already deeply rooted in the state, this move strengthens True Lacrosse’s position as a leading force in Pennsylvania’s lacrosse community and marks a bold new chapter in expanding access to elite training and competition.

Founded on the principles of high-level instruction, character development, and year-round commitment, Blak Widow has spent the past decade building a program that emphasizes both individual growth and team success. Their combination of field and box lacrosse instruction, elite positional training through Torque Lacrosse Academy, and a seasoned coaching staff has made them one of the most respected programs in the region.

“This partnership represents the best of both worlds,” said Peter Burns, Territory Vice President at True Lacrosse. “Blak Widow’s local legacy, elite instruction, and deep community ties align perfectly with True Lacrosse’s mission. Together, we’ll continue to elevate opportunities for athletes across the region.”

Meet the Incoming True Blak Widow Director

Leading the new chapter of True Blak Widow is a dedicated and passionate lacrosse mind with roots in Pennsylvania.

Decker Doupe – Director

Decker brings a lifelong passion for lacrosse and a proven track record of leadership and development at all levels. A Manheim Township graduate and standout at Susquehanna University, Decker has coached at Wyomissing, Ephrata, and currently leads Twin Valley High School – where he guided the program to its first winning season, District playoff wins, and helped over 20 athletes earn all-star honors, including multiple All-Americans. Doupe has been a central figure in Blak Widow since 2023, serving as head coach for the 2027 team and a lead instructor in Torque Lacrosse’s Goalie Training and Positional Academies.

To kick off this exciting new era, True is hosting its inaugural True Blak Widow tryouts on July: 7th & 14th
