Sophomore goalie Brooke Carrier (Central High) came off the bench to help the Swarthmore College women’s lacrosse team remain unbeaten with an exciting comeback victory Monday over Skidmore College, 14-13, in Clearwater, Fla. The Garnet have opened the season with five-straight wins for the third-straight year.
Swarthmore faced its biggest test of the season after falling behind by four goals at the end of the opening stanza. The Garnet then outscored the Thoroughbreds in the remaining three quarters with a 6-3 advantage in the fourth to close the game. Carrier had five saves after entering the game to open the second quarter and Swarthmore trailing, 6-2.
Aubree Daugherty paced the Garnet with a career-best six goals. Carly Rodrigues-Reilly, Kela Watts, Isabela Bloomquist and Elizabeth Zack all tallied a pair of goals, respectively.

Moments later, Rodrigues-Reilly scored to put Swarthmore in front. The Thoroughbreds countered with the equalizer, before Rodrigues-Reilly regained the lead with another go-ahead tally at the 6:21 mark.
