Saint Joseph’s men’s lacrosse head coach Scott Meehan announced the addition of former University of Denver standout Jack Tortolani to the Hawks’ coaching staff.

“Jack is a great addition to our staff and is coming off an impressive playing career at the University of Denver,” said Coach Meehan. “His leadership as a two-time captain and experience competing in a Final Four will translate seamlessly into the way he connects with and develops our student-athletes. Jack’s work ethic, knowledge of the game, and passion for building relationships make him an ideal fit for our culture, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Hawk Hill.”

A two-time captain at Denver, Tortolani joins Saint Joseph’s after a five-year playing career with the Pioneers, where he appeared in 53 games and made 31 starts in the midfield. Over his career, he recorded 42 points on 20 goals and 22 assists, and was a key contributor to Denver’s NCAA Final Four appearance in 2024.

“I’m incredibly excited to join the coaching staff at Saint Joseph’s University and to work with Coach Meehan and the rest of the staff,” said Tortolani. “St. Joe’s lacrosse has a strong culture of excellence, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of the team.”

Tortolani capped his career with 21 points in 2025, starting all 14 games in Denver’s midfield. He notched multiple points in five contests, including a career-best five-point performance in an 18–5 victory over Marist, and scored the game-winner at Air Force.

As a senior in 2024, Tortolani started all 17 games on Denver’s first midfield line and tallied 15 points on seven goals and eight assists. He added two assists in the Pioneers’ NCAA First Round win over Michigan and registered an assist against Syracuse to help Denver advance to the Final Four. In 2023, he appeared in 15 games, posting six points, including the game-winning goal in the Pioneers’ season opener against Utah.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Tortolani is the latest addition to Meehan’s inaugural staff, joining Charles Giunta ’17, ’19, and Jared McMahon as Saint Joseph’s prepares for the 2026 season.
