The U.S. Men’s National Team will begin the run-up to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in field lacrosse with a training camp this weekend (October 17-19) at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. This will be the first training opportunity for the U.S. men’s field team since Seth Tierney was named the head coach of the program in April 2024.
Tierney, the head men’s lacrosse coach at Hofstra University, was an assistant coach for the last two U.S. men’s field teams that won gold in 2018 in Israel and in 2023 in San Diego. His assistant coaches with the U.S. program are Bobby Benson (head coach, Providence), Charley Toomey (head coach, Loyola) and Kevin Warne (head coach, Georgetown).
A total of 42 players are coming to the training camp, including seven gold medalists from the 2023 U.S. Men’s National Team – Trevor Baptiste, J.T. Giles-Harris, T.D. Ierlan, Brennan O’Neill, Blaze Riorden, Jack Rowlett and Ryan Terefenko. Baptist, Riorden and Terefenko have also represented the U.S. in box lacrosse championships and O’Neill and Rowlett won gold medals with the U19/U21 teams.
Several other players with World Lacrosse championship experience will also be at the camp, including Dox Aitken (2016 U19, Haverford School), Kenny Brower (2022 U21), Graham Bundy Jr (2022 U21), Liam Entenmann (2022 U21), Jack Hannah (2024 Box), Pat Kavanagh (2022 U21), C.J. Kirst (2022 U21, 2024 Box), Shane Knobloch (2022 U21, Moorestown) and Mac O’Keefe (2016 U19, 2024 Box).
In addition to the players listed below, several other players remain in the player pool, but were unavailable for this camp due to injury or other commitments.
The first international competition for this team will be the Pan-American Lacrosse Association continental qualifier next year. The next World Lacrosse men’s field championship will be held in Japan in 2027.
