Neumann University Director of Athletics and Recreation John Krimmel is proud to announce Marc Poust (Hatboro-Horsham) as the Head Coach for the Men’s Lacrosse program.
“Marc Poust is the perfect fit for our Men’s Lacrosse program as we head into our last year in the Atlantic East and move into the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) starting in the Fall of 2026,” said Krimmel of Poust, who has served the past 3 years as an assistant at Ursinus College. “His background as an elite player while playing for a nationally ranked program gives him the experience and knowledge needed to take Neumann Men’s Lacrosse to the next level.
“Marc is as genuine a person that you will find and is a true players’ coach. His passion for the game is infectious, and he brings a strong recruiting background to our program while being an assistant coach in the Centennial Conference. I cannot wait to see all that Coach Poust and our Men’s Lacrosse program accomplish on and off of the field. It’s a new era in Neumann Men’s Lacrosse, and I am excited to have Coach Poust leading our young men.”
In a very competitive league for Ursinus, Poust helped produce eight All-Centennial Conference players and one honorable mention USILA All-American.
Poust remarked, “I’m truly honored and humbled to be named the new leader of the Men’s Lacrosse program at Neumann University. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to John Krimmel, Dave Deal, Dr. Domes, Dr. Wellington, and Scott Bogard for believing in me and entrusting me with this incredible opportunity.
“I’m also deeply thankful to all the coaches and players—past and present—who have helped shape my journey in this sport and prepared me for this moment. Most importantly, I want to thank my family and my amazing girlfriend Megan for their unwavering love and support every step of the way.”
As a player, Poust had storied careers at Stevenson University in Maryland and Hatboro-Horsham where he was a First-Team All-Phillylacrosse.com pick. While a Mustang, he was the starting goalkeeper for four of his five seasons. He still ranks among the top in program history in several categories. His 492 career saves put him third in program history. He’s also 10th in save percentage and seventh in goals against average. In 2022, he made 193 saves to put him sixth in a single season at Stevenson.
“My experience as a Division III student-athlete shaped me into the man I am today.”, said Poust. “I faced my share of adversity, made mistakes, and grew through it all — learning resilience, accountability, and how to lead with purpose. Those experiences gave me the wisdom to help our student-athletes succeed not just at Neumann, but in life. I’m committed to guiding them through the same journey of growth, both on and off the field.”
He was a two-time USILA All-American, earning third-team honors in 2021 and honorable mention in 2022. Poust earned IMLCA All-Region honors in 2021 and was a two-time All-MAC Commonwealth second team selection. He was also a star in the classroom after being named a USILA Scholar All-American in 2021 and a two-time Academic All-MAC selection.
Poust earned his bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Stevenson in May 2022. He earned Stevenson’s Fighting Heart Award in 2021, which is given to the student-athlete who has overcome the odds and shown perseverance in their life, on or off the field. Poust is the career boys’ saves leader in Pennsylvania state history (according to LaxNumbers) with 1,056. He also was a three-time All-Suburban One Conference selection and an All-EPSLA pick.
When asked about what kind of head coach he would like to be, Poust responded, “My mission as head coach is to build a program grounded in high character, relentless work ethic, and a commitment to growth in every area of life—on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. I want our players to take pride in representing Neumann University the right way and to be part of something bigger than themselves.
“Together, we will create a culture that resonates with players, families, and alumni—one that leaves a lasting legacy. As we enter into our final season in the Atlantic East and begin our transition into the Middle Atlantic Conference, we are setting our sights on national prominence. It won’t happen overnight, but I’m fully committed to that journey and to building something truly memorable here at Neumann. Go Knights!”
