Hanna (Crowley) Vandevere has been named the head girls’ lacrosse coach at Marple Newtown, according to athletic director Christopher Gicking.
Vandevere is a graduate of Ridley and Ursinus College who has served as an assistant at Marple Newtown for the past two years. She also coached with Philly Blast for two years.

“I am most excited to build on the success that this team has shown in the past years,” said Vandevere, a special education teacher in the district. “These girls are competitive and want to win, so it is really exciting getting to lead them with an amazing staff behind me.
“We have a lot of talent on this team, and knowing how to utilize the girls’ strengths all over the field will just continue when adding onto our success and achieving our goals.”
Vandevere played 4 seasons at Ursinus, collecting 31 goals and twice leading the team in scoring during pandemic-shortened seasons.
Vandevere was a Second-Team All-Central League pick in 2017 at Ridley, scoring 48 goals.
Marple Newtown is coming off its best season in many years. The Tigers finished 13-7 in 2025, bowing to eventual state champion Springfield, 7-6, in overtime in the second round of District 1 3A play, while making several appearances in the weekly PA State Lacrosse Rankings Top 10.
