A former lacrosse standout from Westtown School was one of two members of the Marquette University team that died Friday in a two-car accident in Milwaukee, Wisc., according to local media reports.
One of the victims of the fatal accident was listed as sophomore Noah Snyder, 20, who helped lead Westtown to its first Friends Schools League title and the first Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) championship in 2024. The other victim was Scott Michaud, 19, a goalie on the lacrosse team.
Milwaukee police responded to a crash at 27th and St. Paul around 5 p.m. Friday. According to authorities, a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old collided with the vehicle containing Snyder, Michaud and four other occupants.
A Mass will be held today for the Marquette community.
Authorities said that the other occupants, including two other Marquette students, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated on scene by medical personnel and at local hospitals.
The 41-year-old was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing, authorities said. Criminal charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, authorities said.
Snyder enjoyed a successful freshman year at attack for Marquette in the spring. He was a BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and earned BIG EAST All-Academic honors, collecting 9 goals and 7 assists while making three starts. Just last month, Snyder helped The Haudenosaunee reach the semifinals of the World Lacrosse Championship in Jeju, South Korea, collecting 5 goals and 3 assists.
Snyder, who earned All-Friends Schools League honors in 2024 as a senior at Westtown, played club lacrosse for the Nationals and Brotherly Love.
