Garenet Valley has named Caitlin Morgan as its head girls’ lacrosse coach.
Morgan, who spent last season as an assistant at Wilmington University, returns to the Central League, where she spent 7 years as Penncrest’s head coach and led the Lions to the 2023 PIAA 3A finals. That year, she was named Phillylacrosse.com Co-Coach of the Year.
Morgan helped Wilmington reach the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference semifinals and finish 13-6 in 2025.

“While I am so sad to leave Wilmington – where I had an amazing experience and learned so much from Head Coach Kevin Day – I am really looking forward to getting back into the Central League,” said Morgan, a Penncrest grad who later starred at West Chester University. “Garnet Valley girls’ lacrosse has such strong roots from all the work Kate Henwood and Jenny Dooley have done over the years, and I am so excited to continue to build the program and compete with some of the top high schools in the State.
“My goal is to develop a strong connection with our youth feeder program and establish continuity between both programs to help set up continued success for the future. We will focus on team culture, sound fundamentals, enhancing lacrosse IQ on the field, a team-first mentality, and a community connection while working hard and having fun!”
Morgan replaces Dooley, who resigned during the summer to spend more time with her family.
Garnet Valley, which won state titles in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015, is a perennial Central League, District 1, and PIAA contender. The Jaguars finished 13-6 in 2025.
At Penncrest, Morgan was 67-25 in her last 4 years and posted a 21-5 mark in 2023 when the Lions fell to Owen J. Roberts both in the District 1 and PIAA finals.
