Haverford High alum Katrina Geiger has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Drexel women’s lacrosse team ahead of the upcoming season.
“Katrina has been a phenomenal mentor and coach to our student athletes from the moment she joined us,” said Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Katie O’Donnell. “Her leadership with the defensive unit and draw team has been pivotal to the success of this program. We are so lucky to have someone like Katrina on our staff and we are thrilled for her to step into this new role.”

Geiger has been on the Drexel staff for the last three seasons. The Dragons have posted back-to-back top 15 defenses in the country under her helm. DU allowed just 9.05 goals per game in 2024, which was the 13th best scoring defense in the NCAA.
The Drexel Hill native helped lead the Dragons to their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance, the first team in school history to accomplish this feat. Belle McHugh was named CAA First-Team a season ago, collecting 31 ground balls and causing 20 turnovers. Camryn Ryan led the team in caused turnovers with 22 and collected a 2025 Preseason All-CAA Team honor.
Geiger coached a year at Penn State before coming to Drexel. Before her stint at Penn State, Geiger was the primary defensive coach for Georgetown for two seasons. During those years, she coached nine All-Big East honorees, three IWLCA All-South Region honorees and one All-American. Geiger previously coached for one season at Elon, where she worked with the offense and the goalkeepers.
Geiger, who is from Drexel Hill, played professionally for Athletes Unlimited for 4 years. Previously, Geiger played in the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League for two years with the Philadelphia Fire.
As a player, Geiger was a four-year starter and two-time captain for Loyola University. Geiger also played on three Patriot League championship teams and five teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships. She was named Second Team All-Patriot League twice. Geiger graduated in 2017 with a communications degree and earned her master’s degree in emerging media in 2018.
Geiger was a two-time All-American at Haverford High and the Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year in 2012. Geiger established all-time career school marks for goals (320), assists (117) and points (437) at Haverford High.
