Drexel Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Katie O’Donnell announced Kate Goldstein as an assistant coach on Tuesday. Goldstein brings a wealth of local experience and will oversee the Dragons’ goalkeeper unit.
“We are thrilled to add Kate to our Drexel staff,” said O’Donnell. “Kate brings years of collegiate coaching experience to the table, many of which spent here in Philadelphia. Her expertise is a valuable addition to any program and we are lucky she is a part of ours.”
Goldstein previously spent three seasons as an assistant with University City neighbor Penn, where she served as the goalkeeper coach and assistant defensive coordinator. During her tenure, Goldstein helped the Quakers earn their fourth Ivy League Championship in program history and a berth to the NCAA Tournament in 2023. The Amherst, Mass., native also spent three seasons at Villanova (2018–21) as the defensive coordinator and goalkeeping coach. Before her time in Philadelphia, Goldstein began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Georgetown.
Currently Goldstein is the Director of Nations Best Lacrosse, where she helps the National Team Program develop high-performance female lacrosse athletes. She is also the Tournament Director at Robinson Sports, Inc., organizing and overseeing high-profile lacrosse tournaments.
Additionally, Goldstein is the head coach of the Israeli Women’s National Lacrosse Team (Sixes and Fullfield). As the defensive coordinator in 2017, she led Israel to finish sixth in the Lacrosse World Cup, knocking Wales out of the top five for the first time ever.
“I am excited to join the Drexel University women’s lacrosse coaching staff this season,” said Goldstein. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented team and staff, and I look forward to contributing to the program’s continued success.”
Goldstein was a four-year letter winner at McDaniel College, where she was a three year starter in goal. She graduated from McDaniel College in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management as well as in sports administration. Goldstein went on to complete her master’s degree in sports management at Georgetown University in 2016.
