Last season’s CAA Men’s Lacrosse Champion, Towson, was selected as the preseason favorite to go back-to-back in a vote by the league’s eight head coaches. Towson junior midfielder Mikey Weisshaar was chosen as the CAA Preseason Player of the Year.

Towson tallied six first-place votes and 48 points to sit atop the preseason predicted order of finish. After earning a spot in the CAA Championship game last season, Delaware was selected second in the poll with 44 points, receiving the remaining two first-place votes. Fairfield finished third, with Drexel, Stony Brook, and Hofstra in the next three spots separated by four points. Monmouth and Hampton round out the eight-team poll.

Delaware earned a spot in the CAA Championship game last season for the third year in a row. With a 9-5 record in 2024, the Blue Hens will lean on goalkeeper Kevin Ellington, an All-CAA Preseason selection who was named the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year. Delaware allowed the least goals in the conference at 132, while also having the best save percentage with 59.3%.

Drexel rounds out the top four after a 6-9 season in 2024. The Dragons will have a new face at the helm this year with Steve Boyle being named the head coach of the program. Boyle steps into a team reached its fifth-straight CAA tournament last season. Earning First-Team All-CAA honors, Gavin Kelly returns for his sophomore season after scoring 14 goals and tacking on 16 assists for 30 points.

The 2025 CAA men’s lacrosse season begins Feb. 1, with the top four teams in the conference qualifying for the CAA Championship on May 1-3.
