Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men’s lacrosse coaches have selected Chestnut Hill College to finish in first place in the 2025 standings. The results of this year’s CACC Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Poll were announced Thursday by Commissioner Dan Mara.

Chestnut Hill (11-4, 7-1 CACC in 2024) has won the last four CACC championships. The Griffins, who finished in second place in last year’s regular-season standings, earned a 17-8 victory over Wilmington University in the 2024 conference championship game.

CHC received five of nine first-place votes in the poll and 61 total points. The top spots were closely contested, as Wilmington, the 2024 conference regular-season champion, earned one first-place vote and 56 points. The other three first-place votes went to Georgian Court University, which placed third in the balloting with 54 points.

The final two projected playoff spots went to the University of Bridgeport and Post University. Bridgeport was picked to finish fourth, gathering 43 points, followed by Post in fifth place with 33 points. Rounding out the coaches’ choices were Dominican University New York (6th, 26 points), Caldwell University (7th, 21), Felician University (8th, 20) and Holy Family University (9th, 10).

The regular season begins on February 10, when Felician travels to Southern New Hampshire University. All league teams are scheduled to open their season by February 19, with conference action slated to start on Saturday, March 15.

At season’s end, the top five teams in the standings will qualify for the CACC Championship tournament. The No.5 seed will travel to the No. 4 seed in opening-round action on Monday, April 28. The semifinals will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at campus sites, and Dominican will host the championship final on Saturday, May 3, at O’Brien Field on its Orangeburg, N.Y., campus. For the first time, the CACC champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Championship tournament.
