Boston College – featuring All-ACC picks Rachel Clark (Conestoga) and Lydia Colasante (Tatnall School) – has been selected as the preseason favorite in the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Poll, released Tuesday by the league office. Coming off the second NCAA championship in program history, the Eagles finished with 143 total points in the voting by the ACC’s 12 head coaches.

The Eagles earned first-place votes from 11 of the 12 coaches. North Carolina was second in the preseason voting with 126 points, while Virginia was third with 118 points. Syracuse, who joined BC in the NCAA’s 2024 Championship Weekend, earned the other first-place vote and finished fourth with 114 points.

Heading into its first season in the ACC, Stanford was fifth with 87 points, while Notre Dame was sixth with 86 points. Clemson (74), Duke (63), Virginia Tech (45), Louisville (36), Pitt (31) and league newcomer California (13) rounded out the poll.

The Preseason All-ACC Team features 17 student-athletes, including nine players who earned either first, second or third team honors or honorable mention accolades on Inside Lacrosse’s 2024 All-America Team, highlighted by first-teamer Clark and third-teamer Mckenna Davis of BC. 2023 First-Team All-American Brooklyn Walker-Welch of North Carolina also returns this season after missing the 2024 campaign with an injury.

Boston College leads all schools with six student-athletes on the Preseason All-ACC Team, while Syracuse has four. North Carolina had three honorees, while Stanford and Virginia each had two.

Eight ACC teams are ranked in the preseason KANE Inside Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top 25. Boston College is No. 1 in the preseason and is followed by North Carolina at No. 4, Syracuse at No. 6, Virginia at No. 9, Notre Dame at No. 13, Stanford at No. 20, Clemson at No. 21 and Duke at No. 25.
