Wings sign draftees and GPCBLL stars DelleMonache (St. Augustine Prep, transition), Kuhn (North Penn HS, goalie)

September 28, 2024 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 9/28/24 – From Staff Report

The Philadelphia Wings announced Friday that they have signed forward Brennan O’Neill (Duke), the recent No. 1 pick in the NLL draft, to a three-year contract.

Two other signings from the Philly region may not have the name attraction O’Neill has, but they are intriguing stories.

These two players include transition Steve Dellemonache  (Robert Morris University/St. Augustine Prep-NJ, 75th pick) and goalie Matt Kuhn (Saskatchewan SWAT Jr. B/North Penn HS, 85th pick).

Both DelleMonache and Kuhn are members of the new Greater Philadelphia College Box Lacrosse League (GPCBLL), which the Wings, NXT, and Fusion Lacrosse established last year.

Kuhn, 20, lettered for four years at North Penn and has been playing in Men’s B and C box leagues and tournaments since he was 12. Last year he helped lead the Rangers to the GPCBLL title (4-team league) and was named the “Uncommon Fit Player of the Year” while also helping the Philly Kings win the National Collegiate Box Series title. He played for Penn*Lax All-Stars from 2018-22 and was on the USA Indoor Lacrosse Developmental U-20 team for 2 years. He also has played in the Philadelphia Box Lacrosse Association and helped the Outlaws place second last year.

DelleMonache also played on the Philly Kings championship team. He played four years of field lacrosse at Robert Morris University and was the team’s No. 1 faceoff specialist in 2023, winning 186 of 342 draws (.544 percentage).

See below for a complete list of the Wings’ selections from this year’s draft:
