Victory Events has announced the field for the National Prep Championship tournament on May 17-19 at Loyola University – and the big news is the addition of Inter-Ac League powers Haverford School (last year’s league champion) and Malvern Prep (last year’s tournament champion).

Haverford School (No. 8 in Inside Lacrosse Preseason Rankings) and Malvern Prep (No. 5 in IL) join national powers Hill Academy (Ontario, No. 10) – last year’s National Prep champion – as well as Culver Academy (IN, ranked No. 2 by IL), Western Reserve (OH, No. 23), Bullis School (MD, No. 25) and PA power Academy of the New Church. In all, there are 14 teams in the tourney, with the National championship game slated for May 19 at noon. Six of the teams not seeded among the top 8 will compete in the Mid-Atlantic championships with the title game on May 19 at noon.

Other teams competing: Westtown School, Hun School (N.J.), Gonzaga (D.C.), Perkiomen School, Kiski School, St. Michael’s & Everest Academy (Ontario).

Haverford School and Malvern Prep decided to join the field of the National Preps after opting out of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PAISAA) tournament, being held for the first time in lacrosse following the decision of Inter-Ac League directors to end the Inter-Ac post-season tournament.

Other teams eligible to compete in the PAISAA include Inter-Ac members Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, Episcopal Academy, Penn Charter, and Germantown Academy as well as Hill School, Mercersburg Academy, Shipley School, Jack Barrack Hebrew Academy and George School.
