Traynor (Malvern Prep) named a co-captain for Penn State

The Penn State men’s lacrosse team announced the captains for the 2025 season. Matt Traynor (Malvern Prep), Kevin Parnham, and Jack Fracyon will serve as the team’s captains for 2025.

Traynor had a career-high junior season recording 45 goals and seven assists in 2024. Traynor recorded four goals or more in four different games. He sat third in the Big Ten in goals and seventh in the Big Ten in points. The Downingtown, Pa. native was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team and earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week two times in 2024. On March 9 against Cornell, Traynor tallied a single-game high seven goals which aided in Penn State’s massive 20-9 victory.

Parnham has played in a total of 32 games in his three years as a Nittany Lion. He has scooped a total of 68 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers in the defensive position. In 2023, he was named to the Big Ten’s Distinguished Scholar list and was named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team. In the first round of the Big Ten tournament against Rutgers last season, he forced two turnovers and scooped three ground balls which helped lead to the team to advancing to the Big Ten Tournament championship game.

Fracyon was named an Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American after being named the Big Ten’s Specialist of the Year for a second straight year. Fracyon had a strong third season as he was also a First Team All-Big Ten pick. He led the Big Ten in save percentage in the regular season at .589.

He also led the Big Ten is saves per game stopping 13.88 shots per game. He was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week twice this season as well as USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Player of the Week on two occasions. He recorded a career-high 19 saves against Michigan on April 13 and has held opponents to under 10 goals in 11 games this season. He started in every game this season recording a record of 11-5 which is tied for a career-high in wins in a season.
