Ryan Tessler has stepped down after 12 years as head coach at Holy Ghost Prep.
Tessler said he would focus on his family. He compiled 101 wins in his 11 seasons (one was lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic) at Holy Ghost.

“This is due to family obligations, and the overall need to focus on home,” said Tessler, who spent a year as a Holy Ghost assistant before taking over. “I absolutely loved my time at Holy Ghost Prep. I got to live a dream, being a coach of a great high school community with amazing young men to mentor. I finished my career with a lifetime of memories.”
The Firebirds qualified for the District 1 tourney nine times under Tessler and reached the semifinals in Class AA in 2018 and 2019 while reaching the quarterfinals in 2014 when there was only one class. Twenty Holy Ghost grads played collegiately.
Tessler, who played four years at St. Joseph’s University, played high school lacrosse at Long Island power Bethpage and later was a coach at Bethpage.
“I just have family obligations that are outweighing the time commitment needed to properly coach at Holy Ghost Prep,” he said. “I truly believe it is one of the best schools you could send your son to in the Philadelphia/Bucks County area.”
