October 15, 2024 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 10/16/24

Today is the final day to register for the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association’s 32nd annual PLA Golf Classic to be held on Monday, October 21 at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley.

Philmont, which hosted the event last year, is ranked among the great traditional, “must play” golf courses in the Philadelphia region. Your participation will support the PLA’s nonprofit mission, as a chapter of US Lacrosse, to promote lacrosse in the Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, particularly our New Start Program, which provides technical and financial assistance to new lacrosse programs.

Teams need to sign up by today; you could also be put up on a foursome if you sign up individually,

Last year’s PLA Outing featured 100 golfers and 60 corporate and individual sponsors and raised over $27,000. The proceeds from the
outing helped the PLA do the following:
• Support the PIAA Public Lacrosse League and youth and middle programs in Philadelphia and
beyond (including Eyekonz, Harlem Lacrosse, Youth Mentoring Program and others);
• Continue our stick donation and refurbishing program, which benefits teams in the City and
Greater Philadelphia;
• Organize/underwrite PASLA’s High School Awards Recognition Banquet;
• Conduct/sponsor coaches’ clinics;
• Maintain the USA Lacrosse Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Hall of Fame, which inducted the Class of 2023 this past September; and
• Promote diversity and inclusion in the sport.

Attached is a flyer with more information regarding the event and its festive format. the PLA would welcome your and your company’s participation and sponsorship to help ensure the outing’s success. All sponsors will be recognized prominently in PLA communications.

Please reserve your spot in the outing by completing the registration form and returning it to me as soon
as possible, but in any event before Wednesday, October 16th

Space in the outing is limited and registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis. As in the past, the PLA Golf Classic promises to be a fully subscribed and memorable one. So please come out, catch up with good friends and join the fun, and, at the same time, help make it possible for even more boys and girls in our region to discover the joy of America’s native game.
