From Press Release

Rutgers senior Shane Knobloch (Moorestown-NJ) was named the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association Lt. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Outstanding Midfielder of the Year Award as well as First Team All-American honors.

Knobloch became the first winner of the McLaughlin Award in program history, with the accolade first established in 1973. It is one of five major awards given out by the USILA. He is the first Rutgers player to earn one of these accolades since Reid Jackson claimed the William C. Schmeisser Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1994, and the third all-time, joining Jack Daut, who won the Jack Turnbull Award for the nation’s top attackman in 1957.

For Knobloch, it represented a clean sweep of First Team All-American honors (Coaches, Inside Lacrosse Media Voting, USA Lacrosse Magazine) and secured his place as a four-time All-American. He becomes just the second four-time All-American in program history, joining Tom Sweeney (1977-1980). For Scott, he is now a three-time All-American, having also earned All-American recognition from the USILA in 2022 and 2023.
