Academic Honors: GPA is 4.86 weighted 3.9 unweighted, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, Distinguished Honor Roll

Athletic Achievements:  Leads Trojans with 7 goals through first three games (2-1 record)

Honoree Questions:

How do you define leadership? “Leadership is influencing, motivating, and encouraging others not just by my words, but most importantly, my actions.”

How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “Prioritization is key. Coach (David) Sowers, who is now my head coach, used to tell us campers at his Be Your Best lacrosse camp, ‘Family comes first, school comes second, and lacrosse is third.’ If you get those things right, everything else falls into place. And they benefit each other, too. Lessons that I’ve learned while being on the Wissahickon School Board translate to being a captain on the lacrosse team and being a 1st violin in my symphony orchestra.”

What are your future goals (college and/or professional)? “I plan on studying architecture in college and hopefully designing custom homes when I am older.

Coach David Sowers comment: “Blake exemplifies outstanding leadership and service on and off the field, setting a remarkable example for his teammates.”

High school coaches from the 5-county area, Delaware, South Jersey, the Lehigh Valley and Central PA may nominate a player (junior or senior) for the Pansini Memorial Scholar-Athlete of the Week by e-mailing us at golax@phillylacrosse.com.
