Honoree Questions:
How do you define leadership? “To me leadership is not only your words, but more importantly your actions. The actions you do when everyone is watching, and especially when no one is watching. To me leadership is being a good example and someone others can look up to and see he did it the right way.”
How do you balance academics, service, and athletics? “The key to balancing academics, service and athletics for me is by always keeping a busy schedule. And having the mindset that I have the opportunity to do this instead of the mindset of I have to do this. ”
What are your future goals (college and/or professional)? “My future goals are to achieve a Business degree at Arcadia University as well as playing Lacrosse for the university.”
Coach Grady Wise’s comments: “I had the pleasure of teaching Mason in my 11th-grade American Literature Class last year. Mason was one of the strongest students in his class because of his exceptional work ethic, willingness to participate/collaborate, and insightful critical thinking.
“I have also been honored to coach Mason the last four years on the Boyertown High School Boys lacrosse team. Mason has the same work ethic in the classroom as he does on the lacrosse field. He’s a leader in our morning weight room sessions before school and takes pride in his physical conditioning. Moreover, he’s dedicated to being the best at his position by being coachable, working hard in practices., and it’s clear that Mason puts in time on his own.
“Finally, Mason is one of the most respectful young men I know at his age. He always brings a positive attitude to class and the lacrosse field, is willing to accept criticism, and understands that it takes hard work to earn what he wants in life.”.”
