From Press Release
Manhattan men’s lacrosse star Kyle Gucwa (Bishop Shanahan) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Co-Preseason Player of the Year. The Jaspers were also picked to finish third by the coaches in the preseason poll.

Gucwa, a 6-foot-1 grad student from Pottstown, returns to the Jasper lineup after having been named 2024 Preseason All-MAAC and 2023 First Team All-MAAC a year ago. He started all 15 games for the Jaspers and led the team in goals (25), assists (25), and points (50).
Teammate Matt Scully was named Preseason All-MAAC as a short-stick midfielder. The 6-foot-2 graduate student appeared in all 15 games for Manhattan last season. Hailing from King’s Park, N.Y., Sculy scored twice, collected 17 groundballs, and caused six turnovers.
The Jaspers, the reigning MAAC Regular Season Champions, open their 2023 campaign on the road at Syracuse on Friday, February 9.
