Dan Keating has been named an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Ursinus College and will serve as Offensive Coordinator.
Keating brings a wealth of knowledge and nearly two decades of coaching experience to Collegeville, including stops as an assistant coach at St. Joseph’s University, Lehigh University at Stockton University. He has also served as the head coach of St. Joseph’s Prep (twice) and Malvern Prep.
Keating most notably immersed himself in the Philadelphia men’s lacrosse community as the associate head coach and offensive and recruiting coordinator at Saint Joseph’s University for seven seasons.
He played an integral part in turning around a program that became one of the top-20 teams in the NCAA by the time of his departure, as the Hawks achieved 50 wins from 2014-18.
Saint Joseph’s captured four Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season titles during those five years.
Keating’s first stint at St. Joseph’s Prep came from 2006-08, when he led the program to a 61-22 record. He moved on to Malvern Prep for two seasons, the second of which was as head coach, and helped the program to back-to-back Inter-Ac championships while producing five First Team All-Inter-AC League players, two of which were All-Americans. He was head coach again at The Prep in 2021-22.
Keating began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Lehigh University, where he helped lead an offense that led the Patriot League in goals per game and extra-man scoring percentage. Keating also served as the first coach at Holy Family, which this year begins as a Division II program.
Keating received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Duke University, where he was a member of teams that made three NCAA Division I Lacrosse Tournament appearances, highlighted by one trip to the Final Four.
