From Press Release

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced it will hold a women’s professional lacrosse exhibition, the Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster, on February 17, 2024 at The St. James in Springfield, Va. during the PLL’s 2024 Championship Series.

Played in the Olympic Sixes format, world renowned women’s lacrosse professionals from across North America will compete in a North vs. South exhibition. The event will feature former Conestoga standout and North Carolina national champion Scottie Rose Growney.

“We’re thrilled that professional women’s lacrosse players will join our PLL Championship Series with a showcase of their own – the Unleashed All-Star Game, powered by Ticketmaster,” said Paul Rabil, Co-Founder and President of the PLL. “From our first women’s professional exhibition in Japan in 2019, to our 2023 Japan games, we proudly continue to facilitate competitions that provide additional playing and compensation opportunities for the best women’s lacrosse players in the world. With the All-Star Game airing on ESPN+ and an expected sellout crowd, we’re ready to witness a game that will be remembered.”

The athletes competing will represent Unleashed, the women’s lacrosse training and content arm of the PLL that aims to support the growth and visibility of girls and women in the sport of lacrosse. In addition to holding premier women’s lacrosse training events across the country, the PLL annually sponsors a team of Unleashed women’s lacrosse professionals for global exhibition games in Japan.

“Lacrosse fans are in for a treat when world-class players and stewards of the game like Dana Dobbie, Charlotte North, and Lizzie Colson take the field at our Championship Series next month,” said Rachael DeCecco (Marple Newtown), Vice President of Lacrosse at the PLL. “We’re proud to showcase the dynamic action in both styles of Olympic Sixes play, and highlight the incredible skill and athleticism of the world’s best women’s lacrosse players, alongside our PLL pros.”

“Every opportunity to play this game at the highest level is deserved by the incredible women’s players elevating the game in this awesome era for our sport,” said Charlotte North, attacker for the US Women’s National Team, Unleashed training partner and NCAA Champion and Tewaaraton Winner. “I and my teammates are grateful to Paul, Mike, Rachael, and the Unleashed team for the opportunity to showcase our hard earned talent in this new global format for our game. We’re ready to compete and put on a show!”
