From Press Release
Matt Bohmer and Carter Page each scored four goals today as the St. Joseph’s men’s lacrosse team blitzed Drexel, 15-6, at Sweeney Field.
St. Joe’s limited the Dragons to just three goals in each half that saw a mixture of snow flurries, sunshine, and strong gusts throughout the contest. The Hawks move to 2-3, Drexel falling to 3-3.
Page added five ground balls and a caused turnover while Levi Anderson was the third Hawk to record a hat trick, finishing with three goals and an assist. Jesse Jason added two goals and an assist and Levi Verch tallied a team-high six ground balls with two caused turnovers, recording a goal from his spot in the defense. Pat Clemens (Springfield-Delco) had two groundballs to also lead the defense. Toron Eccleston finished off the scoring with a goal and an assist from midfield.
Tommy Gross earned his second consecutive win, posting just four saves on 10 shots on goal. The Hawks had a 46-26 shot advantage, including a 29-10 effort on frame. Despite the advantage in shots, the Hawks succumbed to a 7-of-23 effort from the X against the Dragons.
The Hawks are now 4-27 all-time against Drexel, with three of the wins achieved in the last six matchups against the Dragons. Prior to today’s victory, all three Hawk wins have come in a 10-9 score. The nine-goal margin was the largest since a 16-3 win by #14 Drexel in the 2013 season.
Max Semple led the Dragons with three goals.
