One of a series of scholastic previews for the 2024 season

Cheltenham
League: Suburban One American
Coaches: Head Coach Jess Byers (3rd year, this is the team’s first year as a varsity squad after restarting the program at the JV level for two years); Assistant Nick Fox
Opener: 4/2 vs. Archbishop Carroll
Coach’s Outlook for 2024: “With our third season underway and many new players to the sport, this group is picking it up quickly and working hard. Coach Nick Fox is going over transitions with our largest team to date at 29 players (15 freshmen), with more inquiring about playing. We started with 14 on the roster in 2022. Thank you to all who have supported us, especially the Pennsylvania Lacrosse Association and my son Logan, who started this with me. Thank you to Coach Fox for coming on board to coach with me and to our long-time managers Jade, Ciara, and Sydney. But most of all, to all the players on the team for sticking with it, returning, and creating something special. I am so proud of what we are building, and the players should be too.”

Hatboro Horsham
League: Suburban One American
Head Coach: Gauntlett Walker, 15th year, 7th as HC
Assistants: Jimmy Murphy, Zach Wilkocz, Thomas Bower, Jake Rickard
2023 Record: 12-7
2023 Team Honors: District Playoff Qualifier
Opener date: 3/15 at Neshaminy, lost 12-9
Key returners: Max Mariano (A/M), Kevin Allison (D), Brett Yorko (LSM), Shane Phillips (M), Darius Graziani (M), Victor Lasher
Key newcomers: Quinn Fullmer (D), Jimmy Cortez (D), Nate Troisi (A), Victor Wilkins (M), Nate Nemchinov (A), Anderson Kirby (G)
Coach’s Outlook for 2024: “We have a young team that is looking to build upon the success of last year. They are all driven to improve their games on a daily basis, while expediting the learning curve to compete at the highest level. Our goal is to get better every rep and every practice to allow us to play our best lacrosse at the end of the year. This group is excited to author their own story for the 2024 season.”

Quakertown
League: Suburban One American
Head Coach: Tony Carty, 3rd season as Head Coach, 5th season with the team.
Assistant coaches: Brian Cole, Karl Schiebenhofer, Ted Wassmer
Last year’s record: 3-15 last year with two SOL wins.
Key returners: Senior close defender Cody Jefferson (Penn Tech) is a four-year starter and captain who provides great leadership and excellent defense. Senior defenders Colin Uhrich and Gabe McNutt are also returning starters who will play a big role this season. Offensively, senior Alex Jalboot will lead the attack. Alex has started since his freshman season and is excited to lead the offense.
Others to watch: Defenders Aiden Walsh, Tyler Scheibenhofer and Elijah Wassmer. Offensive players Jacob Mosser, Evan Mooney, Jackson Lesinski, David Hammond, Mason Borzio, and Freddie Hipple.
Coach’s Outlook: “This team has rallied behind good senior leadership and bought into Coach Carty’s philosophy of competing each day. The Panthers team motto is Hustle-Hit-and Never Quit!”
