Why did you choose Widener? “Widener University boasts a Co-Op Program similar to what my father benefited from at R.I.T.; The Engineering program is ranked higher by the U.S. News & World Report than all other schools that extended offers; and Widener has the best student to faculty ratio, and is ranked higher (per LaxNumbers.com) than my other schools considered.
Head Coach Robb Chambers played as a goalie, and Widener had 2 Seniors, 1 Junior and 1 Sophomore in their rotation this season, presenting higher (potential) future playing time.
I received heavy interest/offers in the MAC Freedom, Landmark, and North Atlantic Conference, but Widener brought the legitimacy and challenge of the MAC Commonwealth.
Finally, conveniently and coincidentally, Widener was closer to home than the other candidates.”
Who do you wish to thank? “I wish to thank God, Family, Teammates, Coaches (Moravian Academy Varsity: Andrew Stitt; True Lacrosse Club: Anthony DePaola, Alex Albertson, Max Stevens, Matt Albertson, James Martell, Mike Squillante (True NJ 2025), Peter Burns & Bryan Rice (True All-Region Mid-Atlantic 2025 Coaches); GT Lacrosse Club: Ben Ibach, Rory McPeek, Rob Feltmann; Southern Lehigh Varsity: Joe Stevenson, Eric Stemple; Southern Lehigh Lacrosse Club: Doug Smith*, Dominic Chehouri, Jared Esposito, Jeff Ricci, and my dad, Jon Gippe), Trainers (Dave Page and Foundation Lacrosse, & Hayley Hunt), and all who cheered or helped along the way.”
Other schools considered: King’s College (PA), Wilkes University (PA), SUNY Polytechnic Institute (NY), Juniata College (PA), Pennsylvania College of Technology (PA)
