La Salle 2026 attackman Declan Heilig has verbally committed to play Division I lacrosse at Ohio State University.

Declan Heilig profile:

High school: La Salle College High School, Wyndmoor, PA

Position: Attack

Grad year: 2026

College committed to: The Ohio State University

Club team: Team 91 Maryland

Lacrosse honors: New Balance All-American (Philly), All-Catholic Selection for LaSalle, Lacrosse Magazine #50 in class, One-Percent All Star, 3x Nike All American, Nike 2024 Leading Scorer, 2024 NLF at IMG All Star, 2x Maverick Showtime Invitee, Mainstage Early Invitee

Academic honors: 4.7 GPA, Straight A’s throughout high school, Honors Convocation for LaSalle (above 4.0), Junior Year: 4 APs and 2 Honors classes, 5’s on 3 AP Exams

Expected major: Pre-Med

Why did you choose Ohio State? “I love a big campus feel, and Ohio State has that big campus feel, and when I went on a visit the campus was so nice –  and didn’t feel like a city at all. Coach Myers, Crane, Tuma, and Vossler were all so nice and gave my brother (Cooper, also a 2026 commit) and I the opportunity to play together, which was something we both really wanted to do. I could tell they were genuinely interested in us and believed we would make an impact on the program which was a great feeling. I have two cousins that go/went to school there too so I’ve been up there before. Their facilities are amazing and it shows they really care about athletics. You also get the full college experience at OSU that you don’t get at a lot of other schools (great football, wrestling, etc.) which is also something I liked a lot.”

Thank Yous: “Thanks to God, (OSU) Coaches Myers, Crane, Tuma, and Vossler, my parents/family, and (La Salle) Coaches Forster and Resch.”
