D3 men’s: Arcadia opens with victory over Immaculata

The Arcadia men’s lacrosse team opened its season tonight with a 13-6 non-conference win over Immaculata.

Alex Adamczyk (Emmaus) and Tristan Johnson both had a career-high four goals. Adamczyk added an assist for a career-high five points. Billy Burton had a score and three assists for four points.

The Knights outshot Immaculata 30-18, and only lost two faceoffs, as Brett Sciascia was 11-for-12 and A.J. Dominguez (Berks Catholic) was 9-for-10. Billy Burton had a goal and three assists.

Joseph Tesler got the start in goal for Arcadia and earned his first career victory, as he made 12 saves.

David Azzarano (Radnor) led Immaculata with three goals and three groundballs and Ryan Gorman (Marple Newtown) had a goal, an assist, and three groundballs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Arcadia scored the first goal of the game through Johnson as he put the Knights up 1-0 less three minutes into the contest.
After Immaculata scored two of the next three goals to tie the score at two, the Knights scored three goals in a minute to close the opening frame with a 5-2 lead.
The lone goal of the second period was the first of Reilly Robichaud’s career, as he found the back of the net with less than a minute remaining before halftime.
The Knights scored the first four goals of the third quarter, taking a 10-2 lead. The Mighty Macs got on the board in the third frame with less than a minute remaining as Arcadia led 10-3 after 45 minutes of play.

Hood 18, Neumann 13

Connor Flok (Emmaus) had five goals and an assist for Hood in its opener. Luke Sykes (Pope John Paul II) had three goals and two assists for the Knights. They fell to 1-1.
