USA Lacrosse has opened the application process to be considered for tryouts for the U.S. Women’s U20 National Team that will represent the United States in the World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong China from August 15-25, 2024.
To be eligible for roster consideration for the 2024 U.S. Women’s U20 National Team, a player must be born on or between September 1, 2003 and August 14, 2009. Players who meet the age eligibility requirement are welcome to submit a national team player application to be considered for an invite to tryouts. The application does not guarantee that they will be chosen for the tryouts.
Players seeking roster inclusion for the 2024 U.S. Women’s U20 National Team will be evaluated on numerous factors, including but not limited to: • Information submitted on player application • Video submission of playing experience • Playing position • Evaluation input from Player Selection Committee • Evaluation input from U.S. Women’s U20 National Team Coaching Staff
Upcoming Key Dates
- April 14, 2023: Application deadline for tryouts
- May 15, 2023: Tryout invitations sent
- June 1, 2023: Deadline to accept tryout invitation
- July 7-9, 2023: Tryouts at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
For players selected for the tryout, there is a fee associated for room and board and players are responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation to and from the event. Once a player is selected for the training team, all costs will be covered by USA Lacrosse.
Planned Training Team Activities
- August 24-26, 2023: Training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
- October 13-15, 2023: Fall Classic at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
- June/July, 2024: Training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
Previously classified as a U19 world championship, the United States has won five of the seven world titles in this event, including in 2019 when the USA squad led by All-World selections Bri Gross, Rachel Hall, Maddie Jenner, Izzy Scane and Caitlyn Wurzburger defeated Canada 13-3 in the championship game in Peterborough, Ontario.
