True Lacrosse is proud to announce the acquisition of Bucks Select Lacrosse Club. Bucks Select has been a staple in the greater-Philadelphia lacrosse community since 2008.
True Philly will assume operations and programming as Bucks Select will merge under the True Lacrosse banner led by the direction of Assoc. Vice President / National Director of Operations, Peter Burns.
“We are excited for the opportunity to serve even more families in the greater-Philadelphia community, offering our industry-leading practice & training opportunities to an even wider market,” said Burns.
True Philly has been the fastest-growing club lacrosse program in Philadelphia since its launch in the Fall of 2021. The program offers year-round field lacrosse programming for participants from September through July.
This merger will unite the elite, robust True Philly coaching staff with even more prominent and locally recognized Philadelphia area coaches including:
Jim DeCarlo – Head Coach, Chestnut Hill College
Gauntlett Walker – Head Coach, Hatboro-Horsham HS
Jeff Bruemmer – Head Coach, New Hope-Solebury HS
Bruce Garcia – Head Coach, Central Bucks East HS
Paul McGovern – Head Coach, Archbishop Wood HS
Corey Kelly – Head Coach, Upper Moreland HS
Matt Coverdale – Head Coach, Central Bucks West HS
Dean Curtis – Head Coach, Pennsbury HS
Mike Kennedy – Head Coach, Frankford HS
Stephen Hogan – Head Coach, Cairn University
Jay Purcell – President, Spartan Lacrosse Club
Dave Maloney – President, Horsham Lacrosse Club
Derrin Mangin – Boy’s Athletic Program Director, Upper Moreland Lacrosse Club
John Kurek – VP, Warrington Lacrosse Club
Jerod Tuller – Secretary, Warrington Lacrosse Club
Steve Hogan – Asst. Coach, Central Bucks West HS
Scott Mitchell – Asst. Coach, Central Bucks West HS
Shawn Cannon – JV Head Coach, Central Bucks East HS
In addition to this list, True Philly will now serve as the central program for over 30 additional area coaches.
Jeff Bruemmer, Director of Bucks Select said of the merger, “We decided to seek an affiliation with True Lacrosse because we believe that a larger organization will provide a wider array of program opportunities and resources for all the players throughout the year”.
