Syracuse graduate student and goalie Delaney Sweitzer (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) is ranked No. 5 on Inside Lacrosse’s Top 50 College Players list. She is joined on the women’s top 50 list by Syracuse senior Emma Ward and fellow grad student Emma Tyrrell.
Sweitzer earned the 2023 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Goalkeeper of the Year award when she finished in the top 12 in four categories in the final NCAA Division I statistics. She ranked seventh nationally in saves (185), eighth in save percentage (.505), and 12th in goals-against average (9.20).
In addition, Sweitzer was third in ground balls per game (3.71). Sweitzer earned first-team All-America honors from the IWLCA, Inside Lacrosse Magazine, and USA Lacrosse Magazine.
Sweitzer was a USA Lacrosse All-American and First-Team All-Phillylacrosse/Inter-Ac League selection in 2019 at SCH, collecting 241 saves, 48 groundballs, 44 caused turnovers.
