Free registration is open for the Live Like Blaine’s 8th annual Captains’ Practice Leadership Conference, a leadership conference for high school female athletes in the Philadelphia area.
The event – for girls in grades 9 through 12 – will be held on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM at Penn Charter School. This free conference will help engage and inform student athletes on how to find their leadership voices and hear from leaders in sports and business as well as college athletes.

Speakers include Alanna Shanahan, Director of Athletics and Recreation at Penn, and Leah Murphy , Entrepreneur, Business Owner and Career Coach as well as a college athlete panel, including two Penn Lacrosse players and one Haverford player.
The event is dedicated to the memory of lacrosse student-athlete Blaine Steinberg, who passed away suddenly in March 2014 while a junior at Dartmouth. She was a first team all league player at Penn Charter and was recruited to Dartmouth. Live Like Blaine’s mission is to empower young female athletes to become confident, resilient and positive leaders.
