From Press Release
West Chester University landed eight players on the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Women’s Lacrosse all-league squad, including five first-team nods, it was announced Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester (18-0) – which hosts Seton Hill today at noon for the PSAC Championship – also walked away with a pair of major awards. Ginny Martino was named the loop’s coach of the year for the fourth time in her illustrious career while junior midfielder, Hannah Stanislawczyk (Gov. Mifflin) was tabbed the Eastern Division player of the year.
Joining Stanislawczyk on the first team were graduate student Lindsay Monigle (Cape Henlopen) at attack, sophomore Keri Barnett (Archbishop Carroll) and junior Grace Frasso (Cinnaminson, N.J.) at midfield and senior goalkeeper Jessica Gorr (Bishop Shanahan). Second team honors went to junior attacker Meg O’Donnell (Upper Moreland) and defenders Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley) and Gillian Peters (Cherry Hill West).

All five first-team members are repeat first teamers from a year ago while the trio named to the second team each are making their first appearance on an all-league squad. The eight total all-league plaudits are the most for West Chester since it put nine on the All-PSAC team in 2006.
Stanislawczyk is the 14th Golden Ram selected by the league’s head coaches as the player of the year and the first since Maggie Stella in 2019. She leads the PSAC in two offensive categories while ranking among the Top 20 in the nation in six categories. Her 68 goals on the year leads the conference and is ninth nationally while her goals per game average (4.00) also leads the PSAC and ranks eighth nationally. She is 11th in the country in free position goals per game (1.18), which is good for third in the PSAC, and her 1.94 caused turnovers per contest is 19th in Division II and fourth in the PSAC.
Stanislawczyk, who ranks third in the PSAC in scoring with 78 points, is 16th in shots per game (7.47) and 10th in shots on goal per game (5.94). She ranks sixth and fourth, respectively, in the PSAC in each of those last two categories. Her 2.65 ground balls per game is ninth in the conference. This is her third appointment to one of the conference all-league teams as she was a second-team member her freshman year, before moving up to the first team in each of the past two years.
For head coach Ginny Martino, this is her fourth PSAC Coach of the Year plaudit and first since 2018. She also won the award in 2005 and 2001. She led her charges through an undefeated regular season and has held down the No. 1 ranking in both major polls (IWLCA and US Lacrosse Magazine) for the majority of the season. The all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division II history now has 380 victories to her credit and stands eighth on both the wins list and winning percentage list for all divisions.
Monigle, a three-time first team All-PSAC East selection, returned for her COVID year and has not disappointed. She continues to climb up the school’s all-time scoring list with 268 career points to her credit. This spring, Monigle leads the conference in scoring with 84 points and a 6.00 points per game average. Her 3.79 assists per game average leads the PSAC and is third nationally in Division II. Her 53 helpers is second in the conference and sixth in the country.
Barnett is the third in a trio of talented offensive weapons at Martino’s disposal. She is tied for third in the conference in scoring with teammate Stanislawczyk. They each have 78 points. Her 64 goals scored is also third in the PSAC and 16th in the country. Her 7.88 shots per game leads the loop and her 6.06 shots on goal per game is second in the PSAC. She takes the majority of the draws and is a major reason that the Golden Rams lead the conference and are among the Top 10 in the nation in draw controls per game and draw control percentage.
Frasso wins possessions, clears the ball and harasses her mark in one-on-one situations to near perfection. She ranks second on the team in both ground balls (49) and draw controls (29) while listing third in draw controls (63). She also has scored one goal and assisted on three others after successfully clearing the ball in transition. The Golden Rams clear the ball 87.8 percent of the time thanks in large part to Frasso’s contribution in that area.
Goalkeeper Jessica Gorr was named the preseason goalie of the year by US Lacrosse Magazine and the senior did not disappoint. She has collected all 17 of West Chester’s wins between the pipes while authoring the PSAC’s top goals-against average (6.70) and save percentage (.551). Those numbers also rank third and second, respectively, in Division II.
On the second team, O’Donnell does it all on attack. She operates from the “X” when Monigle is not in the game and can still come around the cage to be a scoring threat. Her 21 goals and 21 assists attests is a testament to her versatility in playing many different roles within Martino’s offense.
Defensively, teammates DiCamillo and Peters are two big reasons why West Chester’s defense leads the PSAC and ranks third in the country overall. DiCamillo has 36 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers while Peters has 16 and 22, respectively, with four draw controls added in. DiCamillo joins the attack on occasion and has a goal and an assist to show for it.
