Grad student Cross Ferrera (Appoquinimink-DE) is one of six Salisbury University men’s lacrosse players honored on the Preseason All-American teams by USA Lacrosse Magazine on Tuesday.

Christopher Newport Goalie Zac Hanway (Avon Grove)

Ferrara, an attackman, returns to the team after a dominating 2022 season. The back-to-back Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Player of the Year and Outstanding Attackman of the Year award winner had career highs in points (119), goals (91) and assists (28) last season to help lead the Sea Gull offense.

Ferrara holds the career goal record at SU with 274 goals and currently sits third all-time in program history in points with 351. Ferrara enters the 2023 season just 27 goals away from breaking the Division III goals record.

On second team is Christopher Newport senior goalie Zac Hanway (Avon Grove). Suffocating the competition from his perch between the pipes, Hanway secured honorable mention All-American accolades for his work last year. During his junior campaign, he finished with a sparkling 8.09 goals-against-average, which set a new school record and ranked 13th in the NCAA. An All-Conference and All-State selection in 2022, Hanway also established a school record 18 wins while compiling a .540 save percentage.
