Maryland 5th-year senior faceoff specialist Luke Wierman (Henderson) was named to the first team of the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason D1 Men’s squad today.
Wierman helped lead Maryland to the National championship in 2022 and was named a first team USILA All-American, winning 298 of 451 faceoffs (66 percent).
Four of the five faceoff specialists named to the teams are from the Philly region: Wierman, St. Joe’s/Lenape 5th-year senior Zach Cole (2nd team), Lehigh/Southern Lehigh 5th-year senior Michael Sisselberger (3rd team) and Georgetown/Conestoga 5th-year senior James Reilly (Honorable Mention).
